Anette Skjerdal is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, with licenses in both New York and Connecticut. She graduated from the SUNY College of Optometry as a member of Beta Sigma Kappa — the international optometric honor society.
Dr. Skjerdal brings to Malik Eye Care a great deal of clinical experience. Her career has allowed her to work overseas for a number of years, to serve as optometrist for the US Coast Guard when it had its base on NY Harbor’s Governors Island, and to provide comprehensive eye care to countless patients here in the New York City area.
More recently, she has worked extensively with pre- and post-operative refractive surgery patients. She is also experienced in the fitting of contact lenses for both the normal, healthy eye and for therapeutic cases (keratoconus, post-intac and post-ectatic patients).
In 2010, Dr. Skjerdal was part of a mission which provided optometric care to those in need just outside San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She looks forward to doing more volunteer work in the future.
Dr. Skjerdal enjoys meeting her patients and always strives to give her 100% best effort.
